As a fan of Luis Alfaro's Greek trilogy and a Afro-Latina arist, I knew I needed to be apart of Selma Arts Center's Oedipus El Rey in capacity. Coming off of Pippin, I was able to work with Lauren Heard as the lead costume designer for this emotionally riveting and culturally significant piece. As an assistant costume designer, I was able to create research boards on various Catholicism representations in Mexican-culture, assisted in the construction of costumes, ran wardrobe and created designs for the "Los Healers" (renderings seen below).
